Cusco is famous for its prized livestock: llamas.
The peaceful, four-legged mammals can be found roaming freely in Machu Picchu. Domesticated llamas can be seen anywhere near Cusco’s Plaza de Armas, where their owners take them on walks. Ladies in traditional Peruvian garments parade their llamas around Cusco’s city center, offering photos in exchange for some change and a smile.
